- coughing up blood
- headaches
- sweating
- fatigue, nausea or vomiting
- pain in joints and muscles
- confusion and disorientation (especially in the elderly)
Signs & symptoms in infants & young children:
- the newborns and infants may show no sign of infection
- however, they may vomit
- they may have some fever and cough
- appear restless or tired
- have difficulty eating

- people over 65 may have lower than normal body temperature
- confusion and disorientation
- coughing
- loss of appetite
- shallow breathing
